These soya granule patties are easy to prepare, a gluten-free, vegan and diabetic-friendly recipe. It is low in fat as we shallow fry them on an iron griddle instead of deep-frying.

Soya is a rich source of protein and a good option for a high protein diet for vegetarians. stuffing this pattie in a burger bun makes it a full-fledged meal that can be served at any mealtime either lunch or dinner.

I mostly use soya chunks or granules to make pulao, curry, patties, soya bhurji with veggies. These are some very tasty dishes that are rich in protein and easy to prepare.

To make these healthy soya patties burgers, I have used homemade burger buns made with wheat flour and suji and soya granules shallow fried patties. This is a kid-friendly healthy recipe and but also enjoyed by all.

These soya cutlets are crispy from the outside and soft from the inside have a slightly spicy taste. You can increase or decrease the spicyness by adding some more green or red chillies according to your taste. You can also skip garlic and onion if you can not eat them due to some religious reasons.

Step by step preparation of Healthy burger with soya patties / Nutrela soya granules cutlet recipe

How to make soya patties

  1. Wash and soak soya granules in hot water for about 30-40 minutes. After 30 minutes, squeeze out the excess water from the granules and put them aside.

2. Finely chop carrots, beans and onion. Steam them for 8-10 minutes till they become slightly soft.

3. Now in a pan, add ½ tbsp oil, chopped onion, green chilli, ginger-garlic paste and sauté them for few seconds. Add chopped carrots and beans. Then salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala. Sauté them for about 1-2 minutes. 

4. Then add squeezed soya granules and cook it for 1-2 minutes. 

5. Finally, add boiled and mashed potatoes, green coriander leaves and dry mango powder and mix well. Switch off the flame and let it cool for a little bit.

6. Make patties out of this mixture.

7. Now heat an iron griddle on a low medium flame. Pour 1/2 tablespoon oil. Place patties on this hot griddle and shallow fry them from both sides. Sprinkle few drops of oil in between to avoid sticking.

8. Once done, transfer to a plate and put it aside.

How to make burger with soya patties

9.Take a homemade whole wheat burger bun, cut into half. Now lightly roast it on the griddle.

10.On bottom part apply green chutney, place soya pattie then slices of onion, cucumber and tomato.

11.Pour some mayonnaise and cover with other half

12. Enjoy healthy burger with some tomato ketchup.

Serving suggestions

Serve burger as a quick meal at lunch or dinner. It is also be a perfect meal for a birthday party, family get to gathers.
