Chana Dal Ladoo Main Ingredients

Chana dal– Whole chana dal is used which is first soaked and then grind into a thick paste. You can use chana dal flour for instant laddus but making in this way laddus are very soft and melt in the mouth texture.

Ghee– I have used desi cow ghee which is very good for brain development and necessary for many functions in our body. You can use buffalo ghee or even coconut oil for making this recipe.

Jaggery powder– is a healthier option to replace white sugar and is rich in various minerals essential for growth and development. To make laddu we don’t need to make any syrup, we can directly add the jaggery powder, mix and make laddus.

Dry fruits and nuts– adding nuts to the ladoos are optional but they increase the taste and nutritional level. Add any nuts or dry fruits of your choice. I have added sesame seeds, watermelon seeds, and almonds.

Cardamom powder– is also optional. It enhances the flavour of the ladoos.

To make these chana dal laddus, we have to roast chana dal paste in ghee on a low medium flame till it becomes dry and its colour changes to light brown. This whole process will take around 20-25 minutes. During roasting, stir it continuously to avoid sticking at the bottom and the even roasting of the dal mixture.

Also, add the jaggery powder to the mixture when it is slightly warm. This way jaggery powder slightly becomes soft and it will be easier to bind the ladoos.

Let’s see the step-by-step preparation of these chana dal ladoo.
