About oats and jowar cookies
These are eggless cookies. To give a rise both baking powder and baking soda are used. Before using a rising agent we should always check their expiry date, old or expired baking powder or baking soda didn’t give a perfect rise to the cookies.
The dough should be wet and sticky but if the dough seems to be dry add a little milk to it. Refrigerate the dough for at least half an hour before baking gives a nice and even spread to the cookies.
Bake them for 15-17 minutes at 170 degrees C or 350 degrees F until the corner becomes golden in colour. But if you want them crisper, bake them 2-3 minutes more.

As kids like chocolate very much, I decorated them with some dark chocolate chocolate chips. You can also add a flavour of your choice like cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg etc or can add chopped nuts to give crunchy bites to the cookies.
These cookies are crispy in texture with a light brown colour due to the caramelization of jaggery powder.
Main ingredients required in the making of eggless oats jowar cookies
Butter– homemade fresh unsalted butter is used. Market bought unsalted butter can also be used or desi ghee if you are not a calories conscious person. Butter should be at room temperature and soft.
Sweetener– to replace refined sugar Khansari sugar & Jaggery powder are used to provide sweetness to the cookies. The quantity of sugar is very less than cookies bought from the market.
