This instant Hari Mirch fry recipe is made only with a few ingredients that are always present at home. Making this pickle or condiment is very easy and needs just 10 minutes of your time.

Ingredients used in the making of hari mirch fry
Green chillies- choose a thick variety of green chillies for this recipe. They should be fresh and firm to get the best taste and texture.
Oil- I have used mustard oil which makes the pickle more aromatic. If someone doesn’t like the mustard oil can replace it with other refined oil like sunflower oil, soybean, groundnut oil, etc.
Spices– only a few basic spices- red mustard seeds, fennel seeds powder, salt, heeng and turmeric powder are used.

This green chilli fry pickle stays good for up to 1-2 months when stored properly in an airtight dried and clean glass bottle and keep it in the refrigerator.

Step by sep preparation of hari mirch fry
1.First, wash and dry green chillies.
2. Now chop into slightly big pieces and put them aside.
3.Heat oil in a frying pan. Add red mustard seeds. Wait till they crackle, then add heeng, salt, turmeric powder and saunf powder. Fry them for a few seconds, then add chopped green chillies. Mix well and cover it to cook for 2-3 minutes. Do not forget to stir in between.
4.Now switch off the flame and let them cool completely.
5.Once cool down transfer it to a glass bottle and keep it at room temperature.
Serving suggestions
Serve this spicy and tangy green chilli pickle with your meal to enhance the flavour and taste of the food. Serve it with paratha poori or pack in the tiffin to make the food.
Tips and tricks
- Wash and dry out chillies completely before starting the process
- Completely cool the pickle then transfer it to a clean jar.
- To increase its shelf life always use a clean and dry spoon to take out the pickle.
- Use mustard oil for the best flavour but if you don’t like the taste replace it with other refined oils.

- 100 gm big size green chillies
- 1 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 pinch heeng
- ½ tsp red mustard seeds
- ½ tsp saunf powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
