This coconut chutney for fasting or vrat is a phalahari chutney recipe. Coconut peanut chutney is an Indian condiment that can be consumed during fasting time or vrat like Navratri, Ekadashi, Shivratri and others. Vrat ki chutney or falahari chutney is made without using onion, garlic and regular salt.
In a grinder jar, add fresh coconut, roasted peanuts without skin, a few springs of coriander leaves, curd, sendha namak, green chilli, and cumin seeds. Grind it for a few seconds till it changes into a thick paste.
Now add ¼ cup water and grind it again till it changes into a smooth paste.
Vrat wali coconut chutney is ready to serve.
You can store it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Notes
1. Use fresh coconut for the best taste but if it is not available, dry coconut can also be used in the same quantity. Then you may need to add a little more water to grind.2. You can skip green coriander leaves if don’t want but the addition of it really enhances the flavour.3. First, grind the chutney without adding water. If we add water at first, coconut pieces will not grind properly.4. Store it in the refrigerator, and use it within 3-4 days as we have used curd to make this.
