Carrots– for the best taste and colour use red coloured carrots to make this murabba recipe. I have used 400 gm of carrot, you can double or triple the recipe according to your need.

Carrot Murabba with Jaggery Recipe-Step by Step Preparation

1.First, wash and peel carrots.

2. Cut them into 2-3 inch long thick pieces. Then further cut them into long slices.

3. Now steam them for 10-12 minutes on a medium flame. Let them cool slightly.

4. Once they cool little bit, add crushed jaggery, desi khand, black salt to the carrots and mix well. Cover the pan and leave aside for 2-3 hours.

5. After 3 hours, you will see jaggery melt with the juice released by carrots.

 6. Now put the pan on a low medium flame and cook it for 8-10 minutes or till the jaggery syrup reached to one thread consistency.

7. At this stage, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and 1 tsp vinegar to it. Mix well. Cook further for 1-2 minutes.

 8. Switch off the flame and let it cool completely.

9. Once it cooled completely, store carrot murabba in a dry glass container or bottle.

10. It stays good for about 5-6 months when stored properly.

Serving Suggestions for Carrot Murabba with Jaggery

Eat gajar ka murabba as a dessert or as a medicine empty stomach in the morning. As it is high in sugar content high in calories too, so eat in moderation is recommended.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp khand
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • ¼ tsp black salt
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
