Chana Dal Ladoo Recipe | Healthy Ladoo Without Refined Sugar
Learn how to make perfect chana dal ladoo without refined sugar. A healthy and traditional Indian sweet recipe. To make these laddus, we need only 3-ingredients - chana dal, ghee and jaggery powder.
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cup chana dal
- ¾ cup +2 tbsp ghee
- 1 cup shakkar (jaggery powder)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- ¼ cup chopped mixed nuts
Instructions
- First, wash and soak dal for 1 -2 hours. After that, strain extra water and grind dal into a coarse paste. Add 1-2 tbsp water if it is too dry to grind.
- Now melt ¼ cup of ghee in a pan and add this dal paste. Mix well and cook it for 2-3 minutes till it all absorbs the ghee.
- Now add than ¼ cup more ghee and mix well. Cook dal on low- medium flame till it becomes non-sticky.
- At this point, add the rest of the ghee and roast dal till it becomes golden in colour. This process will take around 20-25 minutes on low-medium flame.
- Once the dal is roasted well, switch off the flame and let it cool slightly. Now add cardamom powder and dry fruits. Also, jaggery powder and mix well. Start making a small ball out of it.
- If the mixture seems dry, add a little more ghee and make ladoos.
- Keep them in an air-tight container at room temperature. They stay good for 10-15 days.

Notes
1. While grinding don’t add lot of water to the dal otherwise it will stick while roasting and takes a longer time to cook.
2. Stir the dal continuously while roasting.
3. Add any dry fruits of your choice to the ladoos. It will increase both the taste and nutrition.
4. Store them in an air-tight container at the room temperature.
