This 2 Ingredient homemade black grapes jam recipe made with desi khand and without any preservatives is a delightful and healthy treat. Not only is it easy to make, but it is also a great way to enjoy the natural sweetness of black grapes all year round.
Start by washing the black grapes thoroughly and removing the stems.
In a large pot, add the washed grapes and enough water to soak them. keep it aside for 30 minutes to 1 hour. It helps in cleaning out any chemicals sprayed on them during harvesting and storage.
After that, strain out all the water and put them in the strainer for some time so that the extra water will drain out.
Now transfer grapes a little at a time and grind them to make a puree. Repeat the process till all the grapes are done. If little bit chunks are left in puree no worries.
Transfer the puree to a wide heavy bottom saucepan and put it on medium-high flame. Stirring occasionally, cook the grapes puree till it starts to thicken. It will take around 10-12 minutes.
At this stage add desi khand to it, and stir continuously until the khand dissolves completely.
Let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes or until it thickens and becomes a jam-like consistency.
Turn off the heat and let the jam cool for a few minutes.
Once cooled, transfer the jam to sterilized glass jars and seal them tightly.
Your homemade black grape or black currant jam is ready! You can store it in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 months.
