5-Minute No Cook Chocolate Sattu Modak Recipe | Without Refined Sugar- Healthy and delicious quick sattu chocolate modak are a fusion treat for this festive time. High in protein, made with jaggery these modaks are really a healthy sweet treat for any one who is conscious about sugar intake.
Take 1 cup chana sattu in a large mixing bowl. Sattu is already roasted, so you can directly use it.
But if you notice a raw smell, lightly roast it on low flame for about 3–4 minutes. Allow it to cool completely before proceeding.
Add Cocoa and Milk Powder
Add ¼ cup milk powder and 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix everything thoroughly.
Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
Add Jaggery Syrup
Now gradually add the homemade jaggery syrup. Don't add it all at once. Add 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing well after every addition.
I used a total of 5 tablespoons jaggery syrup. If you prefer sweeter modaks, you can add another 1–2 tablespoons according to your taste.
Add Cold Milk
Now gradually add 2–3 tablespoons cold milk. Start with 2 tablespoons and mix well. Add a little more only if required.
The mixture should come together and form a dough-like consistency. It should not be too soft or too tight.
Shape the Modaks
Take a small modak mould and grease it lightly with ghee. Close the mould and fill it with the prepared sattu mixture.
Press the mixture firmly into the mould so that it takes the shape properly.
Remove any excess mixture around the edges. Now gently open the mould and carefully remove the modak.
Your beautiful sattu modak is ready!
Alternative Method
You can also fill both halves of the modak mould separately. Press the mixture firmly into both sides, close the mould and press it together properly.
Remove any excess mixture around the edges. Open the mould gently and take out the prepared modak.
Use whichever method feels easier to you.
Make all the modaks in the same way. Let them rest for few minutes and serve.
Once they are set, your healthy and delicious Sattu chocolate Modaks without refined sugar are ready to be enjoyed. Share them with friends and family during your festive celebrations.

Notes
Start with high-quality roasted gram flour (Sattu) to get the best flavor and texture. Make sure it is fresh and free from any impurities.
Dough should be firm enough to hold its shape but not too dry or too sticky. Add milk or ghee gradually to achieve the desired texture.
Grease your modak moulds with a little ghee or oil to prevent sticking. This will make it easier to remove the modaks once they're shaped.
When pressing the mixture into the modak moulds, make sure to pack it tightly and evenly to create well-defined shapes.
Store your Sattu Ke Modaks in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can stay fresh for several days.
