This chaat is a high protein snack time recipe. It is a vegan, gluten-free, diabetic-friendly, oil-free recipe which is easy and quick in preparation. Mixed chana chaat is very popular in the summertime, people buy it from the market and enjoy it very much.

My Version of Healthy Mix Chana Chaat

Here, I am sharing my version of mix chana chaat recipe, where no frying is needed and it is very easy and quick to make.

To make mixed chana chaat, I have used both black gram and white chickpeas. First, boil them and strain extra water. I have also added boiled potatoes, tomatoes, onion, green chutney, red imli cutney to this chaat.

For making this best chana chaat recipe we should soak both of the chana for 7-8 hours or best overnight before cooking. Soaking helps them to cook faster and moreover make easier to digest. After soaking pressure cook them on low medium flame for 20-25 minutes so that they become soft enough to eat.

It can be served as a snack or a meal or you can pack in the kid’s tiffin for lunchtime. They taste amazing and even kids enjoy their taste too. As they are high in protein so good for growing kids who need protein for their muscle development.

I have added some crushed homemade papdi in the chaat those are made with atta and suji. By adding papdi you can enjoy the chana papdi chaat taste as well.They add a crunch in the chana chaat but its totally optional. How to Make Mix Chana Chaat Recipe-Step by Step Preparation

1.Wash and soak white and black chana for 8-10 hours. After soaking wash them once again and transfer them to a pressure cooker.

2. Add water, salt and turmeric powder. Close the lid and pressure cook up to 7-8 whistles. Wait till the pressure is released naturally. 

3.Boil potatoes, remove skin and let them cool completely. Once cool down chop into cubes.

4.Remove seeds from tomatoes and finely chop them. Also, chop onions and put them aside. 

5.Once the pressure is released check if chana is cooked well. Drain extra water and transfer it to a bowl and let it cool.

6.Now take serving plates. First, add a layer of white and black chana then chopped boiled potato, onion and tomato.

7.Sprinkle some green chillies, black salt, chaat masala, and jeera powder according to your taste. Garnish with green and red chutney. Finally, add some papdi(homemade with wheat flour) and squeeze lemon juice. Serve immediately. ENJOY!

Ingredients
  

For boiling of chana

  • 1 katori 150 gm white chana
  • ¾ katori 100gm black chana
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 pinch turmeric powder
  • Water to boil chana

Other ingredients

  • 7-8 tablespoons – Red chutney
  • 5-6 tablespoons – Green chutney
  • Black salt as required
  • Chaat masala as required
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder as required
  • Green chillies according to taste
  • Papdi 25-30 pieces
  • 3-4 boiled potato
  • 2 small sized onion finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes finely chopped
  • Lemon juice 2-3 lemons

Instructions
