Ingredients
For the Salad Base
Boiled white chana:
White chana, also known as chickpeas or kabuli chana, provides plant-based protein, carbohydrates and dietary fibre. It also makes the salad more filling and satisfying.
Tomato:
Fresh tomato adds juiciness, mild tanginess and freshness to the salad. It also adds colour and makes the salad more appetizing.
Cucumber:
Cucumber provides crunch and freshness. Its mild flavour balances the stronger flavours of the dressing.
Onion:
Finely chopped onion adds a little sharpness and crunch. You can skip it if you prefer an onion-free salad.
Yellow and red capsicum:
Colourful capsicum makes the salad visually appealing while adding crunch and a slightly sweet flavour.
For the Green Chana Dressing
Fresh green chana:
Green chana gives the dressing a beautiful natural green colour and adds protein and fibre. It also gives the dressing a slightly nutty flavour.
Fresh curd:
Curd makes the dressing creamy and adds a pleasant tanginess.
Green chilli:
Add 1–2 green chillies according to your taste preference.
Garlic:
A few garlic cloves give the dressing a delicious savoury flavour.
Fresh coriander:
Coriander adds freshness and enhances the green colour of the dressing.
Salt and black salt:
Use both according to taste for balanced seasoning.
For Seasoning
I used some common Indian spices like black salt, roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder to enhance flavour.
The roasted cumin gives the salad a lovely Indian flavour, while lemon juice adds freshness and balances the creamy dressing.
Also little olive oil to add more nutrition and creaminess in salad.
